I am not sure how to do this in an iMac, however the way you do it in a PC (on archive.org) is:

1. Find a video you want to download, i.e. http://www.archive.org/details/TheChase_ and look to the left. There will be a thing listing the different formats of the video

2. Right-click the link to the file format, i.e. "DivX - 698 MB". Select "save link as..." or "save target as..." and choose a filename for the movie, or leave it as it it. Also choose where you want to store it

3. Hit "Save"

You can Google what the iMac equivalent of a right-click on a PC is, because IDK. However, after that, it should be basically the same.
